Shwing your way to Big Lots on a reindeer

As I didn't want to bore people to death on Joey's Pad, I thought I'd add the photos of the Christmas cards I've bought to send out here on Coolness, instead. I've never been so organised, but as I'm going to America with my younger daughter straight after Christmas I can't afford to leave everything to the last minute.

My 15 year old daughter chose the gold butterfly to go on the Christmas tree, in the photo below. When we are in the States we're hoping to visit Butterfly Wonderland, although I'm not sure I fancy butterflies flapping around my face and landing on my head.

Each year I wrap all my parcels in the same colour scheme. It must be the frustrated artist in me that likes to make wrapping even more stressful than normal. Last year all my parcels were gold and black, this year I'm going for dark blue and silver.

I bought the blue spotty ribbon from Walmart, and the bows and Reindeer from Big Lots.

I think Big Lots has great value stuff. These beautiful reindeer were $4 for 5, and the bows were $4 for 6. Any that I don't use on parcels can be hung on the Christmas tree.

Can you imagine our suitcases crammed full of stuff to bring back to the UK? Strangely enough I buy quite a few things in the UK to take back to the States too. I love having a bit of both my lives in different homes.

I've bought some dark blue spray paint as I need paint some small baubles and pine cones to add to parcels too. Who knows I may bore you even more with some photos of all my parcels when they are wrapped, first I need to buy some gifts.

Talking of gifts, have you heard of Shwings? Shoe Wings. If you want to be a cool parent or grandparent buy some of these to go on your kids shoes. Apparently all of the celeb kids are wearing them. Of course there's nothing stopping an adult wearing them too!

  4. I LOVE your blue and silver theme for this year!

My mother always wrapped gifts beautifully. I wrap them to be torn into. :)

We had a Big Lots for awhile (right next to our Dollar Tree), but it went out of business.

  5. Everything is so beautiful! I especially like the winged sneakers -- makes me think of a modern Hermes!
