No more Christmas balls!

One of things things I have noticed in the States is that their Christmas baubles are much more inspiring and fun than the ones that you buy here in the UK, which tend to be more traditional.
Pottery Barn  have produced a wide selection of Christmas Ornaments based on hobbies such as sport, photography and travel. These would make a great gift for someone!

Macy's are selling a Coca Cola range too, which I think would look good on a retro looking tree.

But my personal favourites are these sporting hoodies created by Kurt Adler which you can also buy in Macy's and Amazon.

And totally unconnected with the above baubles, here is the last 1000 piece jigsaw that I finished here in the UK. It was great fun to do, not hard, which is nice for a change, but full of nostalgia.

This flower jigsaw called "The Wonder of Nature" I bought for in Dollar Tree. It's 500 pieces and not fantastic quality, but still very enjoyable and harder to do than I thought it would be. I think it's great value for one dollar!

  2. Some of those "secular" Xmas ornaments are fun, but others make me think WTF? Like the ones of famous movie/TV characters. Who really wants Darth Vader, Elvis or I Love Lucy on their Xmas tree?

  3. What a great puzzle for only a dollar!! I really do need to go by our store and see what they have. I love the Cadbury puzzle, too. (I'm a big fan of Cadbury eggs)

Such cute ornaments! I know a couple of folks that would love one of those Coca Cola ornaments. We've always had a very eclectic variety on our tree.

  4. Ale, I know I'd like the NY one!

Debra, I'd love Elvis on my Christmas tree! Ha! :D 50's Elvis though.

Kelly, I know, the jigsaw isn't great quality, and not that well cut, but for that price what do you expect? The jigsaws are in small boxes and whenever I've been, they are always placed up high on the top shelves!

  5. Those ornaments are awesome, wish I could muster some enthusiasm for Christmas.

I love the puzzles, but I think I might go nuts with that many pieces. My mother would have loved them!

  6. I think the flower one would be very difficult, actually, because some things look so similar. Good job!

  7. Wow, a cool post indeed, I can see why you are attracted to these baubles.

For me it has to be the traditional and there's no where better than the German Christmas markets.
