Hold still while I spray you!

It's amazing what you can do with one can of spray paint.

The lion plaque on our wall was looking really faded and old. After I sprayed it with the paint it looked a bit too shiny and new, so I rubbed in black shoe polish all over and left traces of it over the plaque then applied a gloss varnish spray to seal in the polish.

I sprayed the rabbit too, and again added some shoe polish into the markings, but added a coat of matt clear varnish, as I didn't think a glossy sage green rabbit looked quite right, and also it should help to protect it a little better from the elements.

I took a horrid old metal flower pot and painted it with the green paint, then masked off the bottom and just sprayed the rim with a black paint. The last time I was in the States I bought a few small wooden bits and pieces in Michaels, to use for a piece of artwork, but as usual didn't get around to doing it, so I sprayed the bird black and added him to the flower pot. Originally I sprayed the bird blue, then silver but didn't like it so I went with black which echoes the rim.

So I've cheaply renovated 3 things in the garden. The next job is to paint the black rusty outdoor tap, if it ever stops raining long enough to get the job done.

  3. These look great! I really stink at spray paint, I'm less dangerous with a brush.

  4. Love spray painting. The better nozzles, the quick drying time and less overspray make them pure fun to work with. How beautifully your projects turned out, Joey!

  6. I'm impressed and especially with your transformation of that planter. Something that would sell really well at any garden centre/craft fair.
