I could handle the drawing, but not the flooring

I wasn't going to bother with this week's I Spy  . I just felt that my house door handles weren't that interesting, and then I remembered something! Back in my early days of Graphic Design I had to draw cartoons for CB Radio users, (look under the heading QSL) and they were called:

HANDLE(S)

I was just given a name and I had to come up with a sketch to go with their Handle. This is from the days before computers when everything was hand drawn, and I had apply tints from a dry transfer sheet. And any bit of fluff or dirt on the board, the camera would pick up. Ugh, it was hard work! Sorry they are slightly blurred, the camera refused to play ball today, because the light is so bad, but you get the idea.

My favourite was Scotch Egg, I had fun doing that one. I did the work for a printer so I never found out if anyone loved or hated what I came up with.

As for my choice, it's going to be a bit surreal this week. I could have added it as last week's Repeating patterns.

MY CHOICE

Lovely right? When we returned from our holiday I discovered that our swimming pool floor was bulging up underneath the tiles. I think the warmth and dampness in the room has caused this. I'm in the process of trying to fix it, and I thought if I showed it here, it may force me to do something about it. This is as far as I've got.

  1. Would you believe trying to do a post about my CB handle from back in the day actually crossed my mind?! I had no visual to use with it, though. I love these drawings and wish I'd had you to draw one for me. CBs were fun! (I still get a kick out of that song "Convoy"!)

Good luck on getting your floor fixed up. Looks like a challenge! ;)

  3. I love your work! Those are great drawings! You are a very talented person I have to say.

And don't you hate it when something decides it wants some attention? Good luck on that.

  4. Gee! that is a serious damage, but I'm sure you'll fix it, and you could post the process on the diy blog!

  5. Very find artwork there.

As for the floor, it's always the little things that can give you the most frustration to fix. :D
