The faceless child and the colourless room

It's that time of the week again, or in my case, month, as I've missed the last two weeks of I Spy hosted  by Dazee and Christy

The prompt this week is

FROZEN

Just before we left for the States the UK was covered in a thick blanket of snow and I managed to capture my younger daughter holding a massive icicle. She does have a face, but for safety reasons I've removed it, which does look very creepy I know!

MY CHOICE

From one weather extreme to another. A day after this photo was taken we arrived in our house in  Phoenix and the sun was flooding into my favourite room in the house. The cream carpet was already there from the previous owners, but we chose the rest of the furniture, with the help of an interior designer. I'm not sure she was totally convinced by my idea of having cream but I love how calm and uncluttered it looks.

Look how the light changes so much from morning to afternoon. Can you see the sideboard? The designer choose this as an "eclectic piece". I'm still not convinced by it!

  1. that icicle is huge. and I have to say, the way you've blotted out her face kind of reminds me of like pod people or something.

The furniture in both of your homes is just what I would love to have. Very good taste.

  2. I think you're having the weather we normally do. I watch enough news to know that there have been many deaths due to the weather. We've been having really warm weather this year. More like spring than winter.

Even though the blurred face looks a little creepy, I love that shot. And your house looks awesome!

  3. Yeah, the blurred out face is a little creepy...otherwise I'd say she a lovely young lady. But what a weapon of an icicle she's holding! That's more like a spear or a javelin!!

Your cream colored home is quite elegant looking, but the thought of trying to keep that clean gives me a headache!! Love the guitar on the wall. :)
