I'm sugar addicted. I love candies, or as we say in the UK, Sweets. I'm not bothered by chocolate, but I can't pass on any kind of sugary candy. So can you imagine my delight when I saw this collection of retro sweets on Amazon? Unfortunately they are out of stock at the moment, but they are going to email when they are available again. Hopefully by my birthday in February!
I'm not sure if things like Sherbet Fountains and Pink Shrimps will mean anything to anyone outside of the UK, but to me they stir up nostalgic memories of my childhood and how comforting a Sherbet Dip Dab was to a kid who didn't have the happiest childhood.

We all have those nostalgic memories. Mine was a little more commercial in that every summer, the Dairy Queen was open. It was a seasonal one. Most of them are open year round now. Getting a banana split or a Peanut Buster Parfait was as awesome thing.
ReplyDeleteMy grandkids love the candy coins. I think santa is putting some in their socks this year.
ReplyDeleteI lean more towards the savory than the sweet, but I do love candy! I love sour candy, too. I can think of things I like that look comparable to some of the ones you've show here. I could make suggestions of things you might look for next time you're in AZ. :)
ReplyDeleteSure hope they're restocked by your birthday!!
Mad Mind, well I've never been in a Dairy Queen, so it sounds the next time I'm in the States I need to go!
ReplyDeleteDazee, I love the chocolate coins, I did buy some for our kids but I ate them. :D
Kelly, yes please any suggestions would be good as the last time I was in Wal-Mart I was trying to find some sweets that I recognised and couldn't. I don't like the sour ones very much myself.
I'm more on the chocolate/cookies side but surely I have nostalgic memories about candies of my childhood. And recently I had the opportunity to taste again one of them, I let you imagine the feeling.
